A veritable triple threat (artist, songwriter and producer) Double Youkay is positioned to garner critical and commercial success as his music is a refreshing departure from the present status quo. A self taught musician and composer from a very young age, this music visionary has dedicated himself to a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Congo African born and reared in Belgium, Double YouKay’s “sound” is definitely in keeping with “today’s” hottest artists, yet it is transcendent of any one music genre as it organically possesses elements reflective of his native African roots. While a relative newcomer to the music “industry” Double YouKay is however an enthralling live performer. It was in his earlier years where he fronted his band ‘Les Schilo’ that this energetic artist honed his stage savvy as they toured such countries as: The Netherlands, France, Sweden, Germany and throughout the U.K.
Double YouKay’s approach to songwriting includes an emphasis upon the creation of memorable melodies as backed by infectious rhythm and deft instrumentation. Motivated by a true sense of purpose for his calling, Double YouKay’s global mission is to deliver memorable music which positively impacts listeners on a visceral level that will leave them wanting “more!”
